What you need
- A notebook
- A pencil
- Optional: a camera
What you do
- Find: something that flies, something with more than four legs, a seed, a feather, something that smells nice.
- Find: a leaf with a hole (who ate it?), a spiral shape, something older than you, a pollinator at work, an animal home.
- Draw or photograph each one — leave everything where it lives.
- Look up one thing you couldn't identify.
What's really happening
Watching without taking is what scientists call non-invasive observation. It's how most wildlife research is done.
