What you need
- A trowel
- A white tray or paper
- A magnifying glass
- Gloves
What you do
- Dig a small scoop of soil from a garden or park (ask first!).
- Tip it onto the white tray and spread it out.
- Count how many living things you can find.
- Put everything gently back where you found it.
What's really happening
A single handful of healthy soil can contain more living organisms than there are people on Earth.
