The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, British Dietetic Association, Canadian and Australian dietetic associations all affirm vegan pregnancies as safe. Studies show equivalent birth weight and gestational outcomes.

Priorities: prenatal multi (with B12, iron, iodine, folate), algae-based DHA (200-300 mg/day), and choline-rich foods (soy, quinoa, broccoli, peanuts) or a supplement.
