Gelatin capsules, lactose fillers and animal-derived stearates are common in pill formulation. Many drugs have vegan generic equivalents or capsule alternatives — ask a pharmacist.
Vaccines are considered ethically obligatory by all major vegan organisations, including where they contain trace animal-derived components.
