Plant electrical signalling is not sentience. The consensus of neuroscientists and plant biologists (Draguhn et al., 2021) rejects claims of plant consciousness.
Feeding crops to animals uses 5-10× more plants per calorie than direct plant consumption — so plant-eaters end far fewer plant lives.
