The detail
Dried Italian pasta (De Cecco, Barilla, Rummo, most supermarket own-brands) is made from durum wheat semolina and water only.
Fresh pasta, ravioli, tortellini, and some 'egg pasta' brands contain egg. Look for 'pasta all'uovo' on Italian packaging. Rice, buckwheat, and chickpea pastas are almost always egg-free.
